Our Team

Steel Valley Church is Elder-led, Deacon Supported, and Congregationally Affirmed.

We are His church.

PASTORS/ELDERS

In the New Testament, the primary spiritual leaders within a congregation are the elders, also called overseers or pastors (Acts 20:17, 28; Titus 1:5-7; 1 Peter 5:1-2). These men are entrusted with the responsibility of teaching and preaching the Word, providing spiritual oversight, and caring for the souls of those under their charge (Ephesians 4:11; 1 Timothy 3:2; 5:17; Titus 1:9; Hebrews 13:17). Their role includes guarding sound doctrine, modeling Christlike character, and shepherding the flock with humility and vigilance (2 Timothy 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13; James 5:14).

PASTORAL FELLOWSHIP

The Steel Valley Church’s Pastoral Fellowship is an advanced, immersive program designed for individuals with prior pastoral ministry experience and formal theological education who seek to further develop their competencies in ministry leadership (2 Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 4:11–12). This program emphasizes theological reflection, pastoral mentoring, and supervised ministerial engagement over a one-year period (Titus 1:5; Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2–3; Proverbs 27:17).

DEACONS

Deacons play a vital role in the life and well-being of the local church, though their responsibilities differ from those of elders (Philippians 1:1; Acts 20:28). Biblically, deacons are tasked with addressing the church’s physical and logistical needs—such as caring for the vulnerable, managing resources, and supporting ministry operations—so that elders can devote themselves to the ministry of the Word and prayer (Acts 6:1–4). The clearest passage outlining qualifications for deacons is 1 Timothy 3:8-13, where Paul provides an official, though not exhaustive, list of moral and spiritual requirements for this office. Their service reflects Christlike humility and strengthens the unity and witness of the church (Mark 10:43 45; Romans 12:7; 1 Peter 4:10 11).

SUPPORT STAFF

Church Support Staff at Steel Valley Church provides vital operational and administrative support that helps the ministry flourish (Romans 12:4 8; 1 Corinthians 12:4 7). Their behind-the-scenes service brings order and excellence (1 Corinthians 14:40), reflects Christ’s servant-hearted example (Mark 10:45), and supports the church’s mission to make disciples and build up the body (Ephesians 4:16; 1 Peter 4:10-11).
